Maruti Suzuki is preparing to shake up the Indian SUV market once again with its latest hybrid offering, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. This new 5-seater SUV aims to blend efficiency, premium features and high-end safety technologies in a package designed for today’s urban and highway users. From its modern hybrid engine to advanced convenience features like ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof and a full suite of ADAS Level 2 functions, the Victoris looks ready to stand strong in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.

Before diving deeper into the design, performance and technology, it’s important to understand where the Victoris stands and what makes it appealing for Indian families and daily commuters.

What Is the Maruti Suzuki Victoris?

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is a 5-seater hybrid SUV powered by a 1490 cc M15D petrol engine paired with a strong AC synchronous electric motor. The motor produces 59 kW, while the engine delivers 91.19 bhp at 6000 rpm and 137.1 Nm of torque at 4300 rpm. This hybrid setup is engineered to offer both performance and impressive fuel efficiency. With an ARAI-certified mileage of 28.65 km/L, it is clearly designed for users who want lower running costs without compromising on power.

The Victoris comes with an automatic CVT and eCVT gearbox, providing smooth and refined driving in city traffic as well as on open roads. It features a 45-litre fuel tank and meets BS6 Phase 2 emission standards. The lithium-ion battery integrated within the hybrid system supports quick acceleration, regenerative braking and improved fuel savings.

Design, Dimensions And Build Quality

The SUV has a modern and stylish look with body-coloured bumpers, ORVMs and door handles. The exterior follows a single-tone theme, offering a sleek and premium appearance. At the rear, the dynamic connected LED tail lamps add a strong presence, while the roof rails, spoiler, tinted glass and aero vents contribute to its sporty character.

With a length of 4360 mm, width of 1795 mm and height of 1655 mm, the Victoris has a well-balanced stance. A 2600 mm wheelbase ensures good cabin space, while 215/60 R17 alloy wheels enhance ground clearance and ride comfort. Depending on the variant, the kerb weight ranges from 1250 to 1295 kg, while the gross weight stands at 1755 kg.

Interior Comfort And Technology

Inside, the Victoris offers a premium single-tone all-black cabin with champagne gold accents. Soft-touch materials, piano black elements and stitched finishes add to the luxurious feel. The highlight is the 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and the 10.1-inch infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The SUV includes wireless charging, ambient lighting with 64 colour options, front footwell lights and electric adjustable seats with height adjustment for the driver. Ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof enhance comfort, especially during long drives.

Rear passengers also get practical features such as AC vents, reading lamps, 60:40 split-fold seats, centre armrest and Type-C fast charging ports. Multiple storage spaces, sliding armrest, cup holders and a sunglass holder improve everyday usability.

Safety, ADAS And Driver Assistance

Safety is a major strength of the Victoris. It includes 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX mounts, TPMS and auto-dimming IRVM. The ADAS Level 2 suite adds advanced features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.

Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, vehicle sway warning and lane departure prevention further enhance driving safety in both city and highway conditions. Parking becomes easier with front and rear sensors, 360° camera, DRVM and LED lighting all around.

Hill descent control, hill start assist, traction control and an electronic parking brake with auto hold improve control on steep roads and rough terrains. Engine Drag Control (EDC) also helps maintain stability during sudden deceleration.

Infotainment, Connectivity And Sound Experience

The infotainment system not only offers wireless smartphone connectivity but also supports OTA updates, connected car technology and inbuilt apps through the vehicle’s app store. The 8-speaker Infinity sound system with a subwoofer, Dolby Atmos and an 8-channel amplifier ensures a premium audio experience.

Built-in navigation with real-time traffic, camera alerts and AI voice support through Alexa Auto makes driving more intuitive and connected.
